PSP Jeu

If there is one word that can describe me right now – it’s ecstatic. The games have arrived!!! Well half of them arrived yesterday and the rest arrived today… still waiting one final game to arrive – Tekken: Dark Resurrection. Hope can receive it this evening or early tomorrow morning.

So, the games that I own as of yesterday are Archer Maclean’s Mercury, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Wipeout Pure, Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, Burnout Legends, Every Extend Extra, Valkyrie Profile Lenneth and (soon to be) Tekken: Dark Resurrection.

A pleasant surprise, Square Enix has managed to impressed me yet again with only the cover box of its games. Ridiculous, but I tell you the cover box of FF tactics and Valkyrie is just beautiful.

As of now, I am so addicted to buying things online. It’s cheap tahap dewa and there are more games to choose from then a normal game store. Next step – Ebay. Just scouted the price for Daxter – $4.00. That’s like on RM 20+… crazyla.

Time-Out

Do you know what gamers’ worst nightmare is?

It’s to play a game, leveled up the characters real nice and then have the game freeze on you when you only have 1 more dungeon to go. What’s more, the freeze was just before a much anticipated boss fight.

Well, that was what happened to me when I played Final Fantasy Anniversary II for the PSP. Ever since last week, I had been pretty much addicted to the game. It had cute sprites, cool music and an interesting plot. But one thing I didn’t like about the game – or rather, one flaw for me – was the battle mechanism. The game use random battles. That means exactly what it sounds, the game battles (other than the boss fights) are very much random. You can encounter monster and initiate battles anytime and anywhere except when you are walking in a town or on a special level. And that is where the problem comes – the battles are so random that you may encounter battles with every 4 or 5 steps. It might be interesting in the beginning but after a while it just gets downright annoying. You want to fight the big boss not the small fries.

Anyway, towards the end, I didn’t really mind the random battles since I’ve leveled up my characters so that they can finish off an enemy with one blow. Note that it took me a very, very long time to level up to this level. So, you can just imagine my frustration when the game freeze on me all of the sudden. What’s more I only had one more dungeon to go through before I finish the game. Needless to say, I wanted to throw the PSP through the 2^nd floor window. But I didn’t. I sent it to the shop instead hoping that they can fix whatever is wrong. They can’t. They told me that the game file itself was corrupted and gave me a new game file for the same game. The second horror struck here, when I discovered that my previous save point was not compatible with the new game file because it was from another region. Meaning, I was pretty much screwed and had to start the game from… well, scratch.

One week of gaming. All my stats. All my items and equipments. All those time. All those energy. All for nothing.

Fuck.

Well, whatever. I’m not going to start this game on Level 1 again until after the Finals.
